The University of Italian Switzerland was founded in 1995. It is attended by
 about 3000 students from over 100 countries and 650 representatives of the academic body. It is one of the youngest and most dynamic universities of Switzerland.

Lugano

Lugano lies in a bay on the northern shore of Lake Lugano, surrounded by several vantage points. The historic city centre (pedestrian) with numerous buildings in Italian Lombardy style, the exclusive museums, the mountains, 
the lake and a comprehensive yearly programme of events are all conducive to visits, entrepreneurship or just sweet relaxation.Thanks to its mild climate, Lugano is a popular resort at springtime when the camellias are in full bloom.

The squares and arcades with their Mediterranean charm in the heart of the city, together with the many parks with sub-tropical plants such as the Parco Civico on the shores of the Lake, invite visitors to rest and relaxation. The promenade along the lake is bordered by the Belvedere Gardens.
The park is adorned with camellias, magnolias and subtropical plants, as well as with works of modern art..
