Braunschweiger Dom, Dôme Saint Blasii,

The Dome is now a Protestant Lutheran Cathedral.
Built in Romanesque style between 1173 and 1195 after the return of Heinrich der Löwe (Henry the Lion), Duke of Bavaria and Saxony, from a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, it was consecrated in 1226. Henry the Lion is buried there (1195) .
Among the many objects of historical value
displayed in the cathedral and its crypts are included:
